The unseen enemy

If you’re an allergy sufferer, you have my sympathy, empathy and any other “athy” words available!  It is crazy…this little particle that you can’t even see with your eye, comes along into the air.  The only way you really know that something  is happening is the assault on your eyes, ears, nose etc…insanity is close at hand.  I know this from experience.  I couldn’t help myself…I had to make a spiritual analogy. I’m so glad that this doesn’t have to be true of the spiritual attacks we face.   We don’t have to have “symptoms” before we know that we need help.  I hate the insecurity of the unforeseen attack.  I like having some kind of warning.  Who likes to be blind-sided? It is so much easier to prevent a problem that to cure it.  It reminds me that regardless of feelings, God’s Word on any subject is our protection.  We can make decisions based on principles rather than feelings; decisions based on humility, not pride.   Sometimes, if we find ourselves in the attack, it’s just easier to be defensive and go with “gut” feelings.  It’s so hard to be objective in an “allergy” attack…we just want relief!  I wish I had the allergy cure.  I don’t, but I am relieved to know that in my walk with God, he has made prevention and even anecdotes available.  I don’t have to walk along trusting myself.  I don’t have to feel as helpless as I do in this physical body. So I guess what I’m trying to say is that, I’m somewhat relieved…because I don’t have to be blind-sided spiritually.  When I find myself in any attack, through humility, God can bring me back into health.  I’m never left without the cure.  🙂
