One More Time

No matter where I am today (well or sick, rich or poor, happy or sad…) I am exuding a response toward God, which also translates into the lives of those around me.   Today is one of those days where the circumstance scale is leaning heavily in the “wrong” direction.  Like every day, I have a choice.  One more time I can choose to love, trust and praise… regardless.  I can. It’s in the power of the Spirit of God that the right choice permeates  into real life.  It’s a “rubber meets the road” moment.  I think this is why I love II Corinthians 4.  It is such a powerful chapter. It speaks of truth, mercy, strength, a treasure…even in trouble, perplexities, persecutions or being cast down, it delivers a hope.  In verse 16, there is a distinction made between the outward man and the inward man.  Even as the outward man is perishing, the inward man is renewed!!! I think the secret is given in the last verse…”While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are NOT seen; for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”  I need this focus.  If I know every moment in life reflects my choices, not just here, but projects those choices into eternity…I’m living beyond my “here”.  This makes me smile.  This makes me rejoice.  The inward part of my being in renewed. It’s pretty miraculous.  I’m called to turn around, to take a moment, to see the reality of this journey…

I’m tempted to relish in the beauty of this place

To close my eyes and feel the wind upon my face

But you’re calling me to stop, Lord, on this mountaintop

To pause and turn, remember and to praise

One more time, I will stop and turn around

and marvel at the path we’ve taken

I will praise you for all those crooked turns-

It’s there I know you held me until my strength returned

I cried out in that valley-you heard me

When all I had was bitter tears-you held me

You nourished me so tenderly with your grace

So I could make this climb, full of faith

So one more time, I will stop and turn around

and marvel at the path we’ve taken

I will praise you for all the crooked turns-

It’s there I know you held me until my strength returned
