I walked heavy in heart. My legs seemed to follow suit as I moved forward, more out of duty than anything else. Sometimes you can’t quite make the leap from ‘heavy’ to ‘light’ without some help. Both heart and legs halted abruptly, being overcome with a warm wind and lovely fragrance. Senses collided and intermingled, like winds from different worlds. For a moment I stood in a distant place, magical and mysterious, glowing in all that is good and lovely. Something in the warmth of that wind, with the scent of freshness, did the bidding of angels. I looked, smelled and beheld the glory. The lilacs have bloomed.
